Dify is an LLMOps / agentic AI development platform that empowers teams to create, deploy and manage AI agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and workflow orchestration - all within a unified, low-code interface. Originally open source and evolving rapidly, Dify bridges the gap between model infrastructure, prompt orchestration and production readiness. It allows both developers and non-technical users to turn ideas into intelligent agents without reinventing the backend.

💡 Key Insight: Dify's visual LLM orchestration means a non-technical product manager can build and deploy a department-specific AI assistant — with RAG over internal documents, memory and tool integrations — without writing a single line of Python code.

Dify is a solid choice for developers and organizations building llm-powered applications, agents and knowledge bases quickly, backed by its open-source visual llm app builder with rag, multi-agent and multi-model access. The platform has earned a reputation in the Development Platforms space through consistent performance and an active product development roadmap.
Teams evaluating Dify should note that self-hosted deployment requires devops expertise; cloud plan cost scales with usage. For organizations whose requirements align with Dify's strengths, it represents a well-considered investment. We recommend starting with the free tier or trial where available before committing to a paid plan.

Self-hosted Dify has become our internal AI platform. We have deployed 12 different AI applications for different departments — customer service bot, document Q&A, code review assistant, meeting summarizer — all in one platform with our data never leaving our servers. The visual workflow builder meant non-developers built some of these apps.
The RAG capabilities are the highlight. Ingesting our 50,000-page knowledge base and getting accurate answers in seconds is remarkable. Dify handles chunking, embedding and retrieval automatically. The multi-LLM support means we can route different tasks to different models for cost optimization. Open-source community is very active.
Excellent open-source alternative to commercial LLM platforms. The agent workflows with tool use are sophisticated enough for complex automation. Some features are still maturing but the development pace is impressive. For organizations wanting to build serious AI applications without vendor lock-in, Dify is the strongest option I have found.
