LingQ is uniquely powerful for intermediate and advanced language learners who want to progress through authentic content rather than constructed exercises. The comprehensible input approach it enables is backed by solid applied linguistics theory and championed by serious polyglots.
Absolute beginners will struggle — LingQ assumes some foundational knowledge. The interface is cluttered and the free plan is very restrictive. For learners ready to immerse in authentic content, LingQ offers transformative results that few competitors can match.

LingQ is the closest tool I have found to genuine comprehensible input immersion outside of living in the country. I took Italian from zero to B2 in 18 months using LingQ as my primary resource.
Excellent for reading and listening in authentic content. The vocabulary tracking is addictive. Interface takes some getting used to and the free plan is restrictive but the paid plan is very good value.
I have tried every major language app and LingQ is the only one that kept me improving beyond intermediate level. The approach works if you commit to daily reading and listening sessions.
